It’s noteworthy that after the recent Rajya Sabha by-elections in the state, where six Congress legislators joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, including three-time MLA from the Badsar constituency, Indardatt Lakhnapal, the expectation was high that a significant chunk of Congress cadre and block committee members would also align with him in the BJP. However, the unity displayed by Congress, even after Indardatt Lakhnapal’s departure to the BJP, is commendable. According to Congress insiders, the most significant contribution to uniting and saving Congress in the Badsar constituency is being made by the State’s Technical Education Minister and Congress’ election in-charge Rajesh Dharmani.

Following the announcement of the by-elections, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhhu entrusted Rajesh Dharmani with the responsibility of this constituency, which he is fulfilling admirably. The micro-level strategy devised by Congress for this constituency has been unprecedented and has garnered attention. Rajesh Dharmani, contrary to the VIP culture, is diligently campaigning door-to-door with each Congress worker, garnering support for the party. Recently, Rajesh Dharmani’s name has become synonymous with every worker in Badsar, where he has been tirelessly conducting Congress rallies and corner meetings, indicating that his hard work and strategy are bearing fruit for Congress in Badsar.

Before joining the Congress core organization, Rajesh Dharmani held significant positions in NSUI and Youth Congress, and he is leveraging his organizational experience effectively in these elections.

Rajesh Dharmani, in his public meetings in Badsar, expresses confidence in Congress’s victory, stating that the people of Badsar are poised to create a record of triumph. However, the elections are still a while away, and it will be after the EVM count that the true bearer of Badsar’s crown will be revealed. Yet, the common Congress workers and the public are appreciating the down-to-earth approach of a cabinet minister.
