Government schools in Hamirpur district have delivered an outstanding performance in the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) Class 12 results declared on Saturday. Out of 16 schools that secured positions in the merit list, 11 were government-run institutions, showcasing the strength of public education. Notably, 13 out of 17 students who made it to the merit list were girls, reinforcing the district’s commitment to girls’ education.

Government Schools Lead the Way
Arts Stream saw a 100% dominance by government schools, with all 7 merit students coming from public institutions—all of them girls. While Science Stream contributed 10 merit students, while Commerce remained a weak spot, with no representation from Hamirpur in the state merit list.PM Shri Govt Senior Secondary School, Bharedi, made headlines as two of its students secured positions in the top 10.

Top Performers
Suhani Sharma (Govt Senior Secondary School, Toni Devi) topped the district with 96.2%, securing the 4th rank in the state merit list (Science). Jyoti Sharma (Arts) scored 95.8%, earning the 6th rank and Vanshika Thakur (PM Shri School, Bharedi) clinched the 7th rank with 95.6%.

Govt Senior Secondary Schools (Toni Devi, Jalari, Chabutra, Byad, Bahanwin, Kot, Nadaun, Kangoo, Barsar) PM Shri Schools (Badran, Bhota) _ Private Schools (Him Academy, Iron Public School, Blue Star Public School) got merits.

This year’s results highlight the quality education provided by government schools and the exceptional performance of girls in Hamirpur. While the district excelled in Science and Arts, the absence of students in the Commerce merit list calls for introspection and improvement in the coming years.
