National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur proudly celebrated its 15th Convocation Ceremony, a monumental event honoring the academic journeys and achievements of its graduating students. With a powerful address by Dr. Sudatta Kar, Vice President & Head of Engineering at Capgemini India, the ceremony inspired the graduates to lead with responsibility and innovation. Joining as Guest of Honor, Shri Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director-Personnel at SJVN, shared insights into professional growth and the importance of skill development.
This year, a total of 1498 students received degrees spanning B.Tech., B.Arch., M.Tech., M.Arch., M.Sc., MBA, and Ph.D. programs. Prestigious medals were awarded for academic excellence, with Vishaliny V., from the Department of Architecture, receiving the coveted Director’s Medal for exemplary all-round performance.
Director Prof. H. M. Suryavanshi lauded the institute’s achievements, expressing pride in the graduates’ accomplishments and sharing his vision for their futures. Dr. Sudatta Kar’s keynote focused on urgent global issues such as Earth Overshoot Day, urging graduates to pursue sustainable practices and technological innovations to combat climate change. She also highlighted the transformative potential of Industry 5.0, the importance of diversity in technology, and encouraged graduates to uphold ethical practices in their careers.
Dr. Archana Santosh Nanonty, Registrar of NIT Hamirpur, remarked, “This 15th Convocation was a profound celebration of our students’ success, empowering them to leave a meaningful impact on the world.” The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Dr. Siddhartha Sharma, Dean of Academics, marking an inspiring day of pride, reflection, and anticipation for the future.
