Hamirpur MLA Ashish Sharma organized an employment fair at Baasi Palace Hamirpur on Wednesday, offering promising opportunities for local youth in the solar energy sector. A total of 367 candidates registered for positions such as solar panel installer helpers, supervisors, and team leaders, out of which 72 were shortlisted for further training.
The selected candidates will undergo a 45-day training program at the International Skill Training Institute in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Upon completion, they will be eligible for employment both in India and abroad, facilitated by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The NSDC will place skilled candidates in countries like Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, as well as in domestic companies.
Selected trainees will receive technical certification, enhancing their employability. Those chosen for overseas positions will benefit from free accommodation, air tickets, medical facilities, and meals. However, during training, candidates must bear a fee of ₹5,000 along with their living expenses.
MLA Ashish Sharma emphasized that the fair was aimed at empowering youth with employment opportunities. He also announced that financially disadvantaged candidates from the Hamirpur assembly constituency would receive assistance with training fees.
Pooja Sharma, head of the International Skill Training Institute, confirmed that the 72 selected candidates will be trained in Kushinagar before being placed in jobs according to their preferences, either in India or internationally. This initiative marks a significant step toward skill development and global employment prospects for Hamirpur’s youth.
