Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal, in a press release issued from Hamirpur, emphasized the critical importance of the Radha Soami Charitable Hospital in Bhota. Established and operated by the Radha Soami Satsang Beas, this hospital has been a cornerstone of healthcare in the region for years. He stated that the hospital has consistently provided medical services to over 300,000 people across 952 villages within a 15-kilometer radius of Bhota. The institution has delivered state-of-the-art healthcare in an excellent environment through its dedicated management and medical team.

Expressing concern, Dhumal noted reports suggesting the potential closure of the hospital, describing such developments as being against public interest. He recounted the hospital’s inception, sharing that during his first term as Chief Minister, he discussed the establishment of this institution with Baba Gurinder Singh Ji, the head of Radha Soami Satsang Beas. The construction of the hospital began in 1999 under their guidance, and since then, it has remained committed to serving the local population 24/7, offering high-quality medical services in a supportive environment. Thousands of people have benefitted from this hospital, receiving life-saving treatments and leading healthier lives.

The former Chief Minister called the potential closure of the hospital a matter of grave concern. He urged the government to intervene, noting that ensuring basic amenities like roads, education, and healthcare is a fundamental duty of any government. In Himachal Pradesh, where government efforts alone cannot meet the population’s healthcare needs, charitable institutions like this hospital play an indispensable role in bridging the gap and benefiting both the government and the public.

Dhumal suggested that the government should take appropriate measures to ensure the hospital’s uninterrupted operation. Any hurdles impeding its smooth functioning should be resolved. He emphasized the importance of recognizing the hospital’s contribution to the healthcare sector and creating a conducive environment to allow it to serve the public more effectively. With the right support, the Radha Soami Charitable Hospital can continue to address healthcare challenges and improve the well-being of the local population.
