The BJP staged a massive protest rally in Himachal Pradesh today, demanding immediate identification and deportation of illegal Pakistani nationals residing in the state. Former Union Minister and MP Anurag Thakur launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, questioning, “Why has no action been taken even after the Centre’s clear directives? Is the Congress shielding illegal immigrants?”
Congress-Ruled States Ignoring National Security Threat
Thakur accused the Congress of deliberately delaying action, stating, “Despite the Union government’s orders, not a single Pakistani national has been identified in Himachal till May 2. Why are Congress-ruled states soft on illegal infiltrators?”
Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam (Jammu & Kashmir), he said, “After the brutal killing of Hindus, the Centre took strong steps—canceling the Indus Water Treaty and ordering the deportation of illegal Pakistanis. But Congress governments are not cooperating. Are they working for India or Pakistan?”
He also targeted Congress leaders for their pro-Pakistan statements, demanding clarity: “Congress must answer—does it stand with India or not?”
Turning to the caste census issue, Thakur exposed Congress’ double standards: “In 2011, the UPA government conducted a census but avoided a caste-wise count. Why? Because Congress has always opposed social justice—they suppressed the Kakkalekar and Mandal Commission reports too.”
He further mocked Rahul Gandhi: “He called Bihar’s caste survey fake, even though his party was in power there. Congress only does politics, not governance.”
BJP Submits Memorandum, Warns of Agitation
Led by district BJP president Rakesh Thakur, the rally saw participation from MLAs Ashish Sharma, Rajender Rana, Kamlesh kumari and other prominent leaders . Later, a memorandum was submitted to the Governor and Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner, demanding urgent deportation of illegal immigrants.
