Empowering Young Girls with Vital Health Knowledge

Him Academy Public School in Vikasnagar organized a special health awareness program today, educating female students from classes 9 to 12 about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). The event was held under the Sakhi initiative, a social outreach program by Kolkata-based pharmaceutical company Albert David Limited.

Renowned gynecologist and IVF specialist Dr. Anandita Singh Thakur led the session, explaining the causes, symptoms, and management of PCOS. She emphasized that while PCOS is becoming increasingly common among young women, it can be managed with proper awareness and lifestyle changes. Dr. Thakur highlighted the importance of menstrual health, balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and stress management, stating, “Health consciousness during adolescence can prevent serious complications in the future.”

Representatives from Albert David Limited, Mr. Ranjit Thakur and Mr. Vijendra Singh, shared insights on the company’s health initiatives and encouraged students to prioritize their well-being.

Students described the session as “highly informative and inspiring,” pledging to adopt healthier habits. The school principal thanked Dr. Thakur and the Albert David team, stating, “Such programs not only raise awareness but also contribute to building a healthier society.”
