Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced several key initiatives during the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ program. Starting next academic session, Government Senior Secondary School Dhaneta will introduce the CBSE curriculum. The school will also be converted into a co-educational institution, and science stream classes will be introduced. Additionally, B.Ed and BCA courses will be launched at Government College Dhaneta to provide better higher education opportunities for local students.
The CM also announced the establishment of a new agricultural marketing center in Nadaun to help farmers get better prices for their produce. He further declared that memorial gates would be built in the native villages of Arvindra Singh and Subedar Kuldeep Chand, martyrs of ‘Operation Sindhu’, to honor their sacrifice.
Highlighting governance achievements, the CM stated that Himachal has risen to 5th position in national education quality rankings under his government’s reforms. Students now benefit from initiatives like smart uniforms and international exposure visits. In healthcare, modern equipment is being provided to medical colleges, and home-based health checkups for senior citizens above 70 have been introduced.
The government has fixed Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for milk, wheat, maize, and raw turmeric to support farmers. ₹3,000 crore saved through anti-corruption measures is being redirected to public welfare. Himachal also became India’s first state to grant ‘Children of the State’ status to 6,000 orphans, ensuring their education and upbringing under state guardianship.
The CM reiterated the goal to make Himachal self-reliant by 2027, with all policies centered on public welfare. The event was attended by Ayush Minister Yadavindra Goma, MLA Kamlesh Thakur, and other dignitaries.
